Update 2: I have been asked on a few occasions: With the price increases, are these still a good value / do you still recommend them?……Broadly, while some companies have increased prices more than others, yes I still recommend the companies in this video. The whole market has risen because of this. After price increases, they all land in a similar position with regard to quality-for-price relative to the rest of the market. I always recommend doing your own due diligence accordingly before making a purchase.
Update: At this point just about every company has factored the tariff into their pricing, so here in the US you will NOT have to pay upon pickup of your package. I still always advise emailing the company directly to double check before ordering.
Friendly reminder to those of you in the U.S. – The De Minimus $800 ends at the end August, meaning all purchases from non-US countries of any price will be subject to an import/customs tax that you will have to pay upon pickup, not upon order. This is new to many Americans, myself included. Of the brands listed in this video, currently only Jay Butler, Beckett Simonon, BLKBRD, Bridlen, and Meermin will not have customs tax, as they warehouse in the US or have included it in their order price. I will update you as this changes, as I know some companies are working on solutions. I always advise contacting the company before an order to check with them on this matter – and checking the current tariff rates as they may change rapidly.
